Travelling from Rhodes Airport
Rhodes Airport «Diagoras» is on the west coast of the island, around 14 km southwest of Rhodes Town near the village of Paradisi. It is the only airport on Rhodes, so every visitor arrives here.
The road north to Rhodes Town and the west coast resorts of Ialysos and Ixia is quick, usually 15 to 25 minutes. For the east coast, the route runs through or around the town onto the Rhodes to Lindos avenue, so those journeys take longer.
Rhodes Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site enclosed by medieval walls, is largely closed to traffic. Your driver will drop you as close as vehicles can get, usually by one of the gates such as the Liberty Gate near Mandraki harbour, a short walk from most old-town hotels.
Some of the closest resorts are Ialysos and Kallithea at around 15 to 20 minutes, and Faliraki roughly 25 to 30. Further down the east coast, Kolymbia and Afandou are around 35 to 40 minutes, with Lindos, Pefkos and Kiotari closer to an hour. With a fixed price, the cost is exactly what you booked, however long the drive.

How far is Rhodes Airport from Rhodes Town?
Rhodes Airport is around 14 km from Rhodes Town, on the west coast near Paradisi. By road the journey usually takes 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic. The medieval Old Town, Mandraki harbour and the New Town beaches are all close together once you arrive.
How much is a taxi from Rhodes Airport to Lindos?
A taxi from Rhodes Airport to Lindos generally costs €80 or more, depending on your exact drop-off, time of day, traffic, and luggage. By contrast, a private transfer has one fixed price, with your pickup rescheduled in case of delays.
How far is Faliraki from Rhodes Airport?
Faliraki is around 16 to 21 km from Rhodes Airport, one of the closest resorts to the north east. By road it is a 20 to 30 minute drive, depending on whether you are heading to the main beach, the resort centre or the quieter northern end near Kallithea.
Are taxis readily available at Rhodes Airport?

There are public buses from Rhodes Airport, but they only cover destinations like Rhodes Town, Faliraki, and parts closer to the airport, while places like Kolymbia and Lindos require multiple buses to get to. Can I get a transfer to resorts in Kiotari, Kolymbia or Lindos?
Yes. Kiotari, Kolymbia and Lindos are all popular destinations on the east coast of Rhodes. Kolymbia is roughly 30 to 40 minutes from the airport, Lindos closer to an hour, and Kiotari further south at around an hour and a quarter. Private transfers run directly to each, taking you straight to your hotel without a change of bus.
How early should I arrive at Rhodes Airport?
Plan to arrive at least 2 hours before short-haul flights and 3 before long-haul. If you're staying in Lindos or the southern resorts, factor in the hour-long drive back up the east coast, which can slow down in summer. If we are driving you to the airport, we factor that into your pickup time.
